Watching too much directstartv and eating Cheetos isn’t good for anyone’s waistline, but you already knew that. But did you know there are many other causes of weight gain you may be indirectly exposing yourself to? Take better care of your health and watch out for:

Not Enough Sleep: Missing too many Zs can have you packing on the pounds so be sure to get at least 7 hours each night. To ensure a restful sleep try to cool off the room and turn off all electronics at least one full hour before bed.

Not Eating Breakfast: Studies repeatedly show that subjects who eat breakfast do better long term keeping weight off than those who don’t. Get your metabolism going and stave off famishing lunchtime feasts by eating a protein and fiber-heavy breakfast every morning.

Too Many Sodas: Even if they’re diet, they can be contributing to your pounds. Some studies show that artificial sweeteners actually increase hunger so you may eat more while drinking diet. Stick to the full-calorie stuff as an occasional treat and drink mostly water.
